Hereby are listed all our known usable sources for sound (such as musics, special effects, noises, voices, etc.) content.
Among the sound resources, one can find soundtracks, which are pure instrumental musics created from specific synthetic low-quality sounds, played at different pitch and time. They were the only possible sounds that first entertainment devices could play, due to serious hardware limitations. They often trigger some nostalgia among people who experienced this first audio artwork.
Often found in demos as well as in video games, the hardware constraints resulted in the composers spending more efforts on pure melody and rythm, with great success. They were the precursor of what is called nowadays electronic music. One can listen to the Nectarine Internet radio, to remember the good old time !
Now one can find a large majority of CD-quality recordings belonging to all musical genres, available with licences that allow to distribute music far more freely than with the major labels. There are often known as Libre Music.
